The Verdict is In

On Thursday, the September 30th, a 60 year old case finally gets a verdict, but not a final one though. The Allahabad High Court decided that the land in Ayodhya creating the disputes is being divided equally into 3 parts to the Sunni Waqf Board, Nirmohi Akhara and the Ram lala Virajman party.
The Justice and verdict was given by 3 judges – Justice S U Khan, Justice Sudhir Agarwal and Justice D V Sharma. The decision of the land to be distributed in 3 parts won a 2:1 vote among the 3 judges. Justice Khan had said that no temple was destroyed before construction of the mosque and that Muslims and Hindus had worshipped together in the 1500s in that land.
However, the other judges had not supported Justice Khan over the issue of joint worship. It is also believed that the portion below the central dome where idols of Lord Ram and other Gods are placed in the makeshift temple, should belong to the Hindus. as it is considered to be the birth place of the Lord Ram.
It is not permissible for a group of citizens to take law and order into their hands and go along to destroy a structure. The verdict from the Allahabad High court is not final, but has been passed on to the Supreme Court for its final verdict in a couple of months.
