Mumbai Will Get New Fire Fighting Equipment

After a lot of protests and threats and strikes, the Mumbai City Fire Department has had their demands met with and now they will get their hands on imported equipment which the city has starved without for years.  As part of the Mumbai Modernization Drive, the Municipal corporation for greater Bombay as approved the inclusion of international firefighting equipment in the state’s arsenal.

The new equipment which is scheduled to arrive soon is said to be the best in state of the art technologies that have been incorporated by German and Dutch machinery. New rescue mobiles are expected to arrive in the city soon and will be joined with the likes of jumbo tankers and other handheld devices. The new ATVs which are also expected to hit the city soon promise to be a faster and convenient option for the Mumbai City Fire Department to take on.  New tools and much more are expected to come into the city soon and Mumbai will be well on the road to a faster and more efficient firefighting task force.

There has always been a need for this and it is surprisingly sad to see that it has taken this long for the new equipment to come in. However, it is better late than never to see development come in the favor of the city. It is expected that by 2011, the Mumbai City Fire Department will be well capable to handle any task put ahead of them. Now what remains, is recruiting young fighters that are capable of handling this equipment.
