After a series of events which have unfolded at the German Bakery, Pune, the state of Maharashtra, particularly the city of Mumbai has been put on red alert. Recently, Pune was victim of a terror attack where a bomb killed a number of people more in their youth. It has come at a tragic time where people are yet recuperating from the 26/11 attacks where Mumbai was terrorized from inside out. In the heart of Mumbai, Colaba has always been a prime target to many. From the 83’ blasts till date, South Mumbai remains one of the most coveted targets in social demographics. It has hence remained a reason for the security in prime locations of Colaba to be anted up.
Chief Minister Ashok Chavan stated clearly that Mumbai will do its best to curb terrorism and his team has been posted at different positions at the city to pick up any suspicious trends which could lead to another attack. The Mumbai Police as well seem to be doing their very best to keep things in perspective. However, the effect of their security means yet remains to be tested. While so far they seem to be doing a good job, security forces cannot seem to lose focus and let a slip up occur. It is for this very reason that residents of the city have been supporting the efforts towards security and peace by contributing their best possible efforts. It has been appealing to know that all leaves for policemen have been canceled off so that the security measures can be maintained well.
This city has been a victim to a number of attacks over the years but has yet managed to come out on the top of events so as to ensure a means that the will power is wrapped and woofed into a fabric of this city’s destiny.
